Coasteering was invented by TYF in 1986. It is an exhilarating blend of scrambling, leaping and traversing along the coastline, where the sea meets the land. There are spots to jump, stretches to swim, caves to explore and waves to navigate.
Climb, swim, scramble and jump your way around the bottom of the cliffs. Participants will explore personal limits, overcome fears, bond with each other and of course enjoy a few hours of pure adrenaline-soaked fun.
Whether you want to go flat out and breathless, or choose a slower exploration, TYF guarantee high-quality adventures at a level that’s right for you.

My boyfriend and I had a coasteering session with Roo, it was just the two of us and we had such an amazing afternoon exploring the St. Non's Bay area - we covered a lot of the coastline, it was really varied - caves, jumps, climbing, swimming and shared knowledge wildlife and geology in the area. It was a throughly enjoyable experience, we felt completely safe with Roo he was an excellent instructor; friendly, passionate, experienced, knowledgable and we really enjoyed spending the afternoon in his company.

Thank you Jemima for a fabulous coasteer! In the words of my 9 year old " it was better than a birthday!" and my 12 year has not stopped talking about her jumps and facts about barnacles! Thank you you are awesome!

Just back from an amazing couple of days coasteering with TYF. If you’re looking for something to get you off the grid and free your mind for a couple of hours then you should give this a try. Big shout to Matt for taking us out in lively conditions and finding some big jumps for big kids!

What a lovely bunch of people. I was a little apprehensive as being a little “larger than the average bear” they wouldn't have a wetsuit that would fit but I needn’t have worried, lots of kit to borrow.
Great safety, great knowledge, we ate seaweed that tasted like garlic on our way round the rocks. Would highly recommend friends/family/groups/teens/everyone to book with them.
Coasteering with teens

As a group of 8 (kids aged 10 -15, adults 40+!) we thought we might struggle to book a session in Aug, but TYF put on an extra session for us, even though they were ‘fully booked’ on their website, and we were offered a group discount too. Bonus!
Customer service was outstanding from beginning to end. We’ve just had a fabulous afternoon with our guide Kelly, exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline, swimming, climbing and jumping from heights we never thought we would! Kelly was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, smiley and made the whole afternoon a lot of fun. Thanks TYF, coasteering has been the highlight of our holiday so far......
Amazing Coasteering Trip
SkierGH, 22nd July 2019
Just returned from an amazing coasteering trip around the St Non’s Bay Area with TYF. This was my 5th TYF coasteering trip and was the best yet. Jemima and her colleague made the trip memorable in that having quickly evaluated the groups level of experience they let us really go to town on the jumps.
This was interspersed with interesting observations on the environment we were in as well as exploring interesting coastal features such as “The Toilet” and sea caves. All in all a really cracking afternoon. Highly recommended - we will return for trip number 6 soon !!

I've watched people do this for decades but never tried it until now. It was great fun with some scrambling and climbing and a lot of leaping and getting wet. The instructor (John) was very thorough, safety was paramount and he was very encouraging as well. Very good equipment as well. TYF also very excellent sustainability credentials.

We went coasteering for the first time on Sunday and had a brilliant time.
We called into the TYF booking office on Saturday afternoon to enquire about possibly coasteering on Sunday. There were no sessions scheduled but the team checked with a guide called Matt who was happy to take us out the next day.
We knew there would be some scrambling, climbing and jumping involved but we were not prepared for just how much fun we would have along the way. Everything was at our own pace. Jumping in from whatever heights we were comfortable with and as many times as we wanted. What I didn’t expect was the marine biology lesson along the way. Matt knew the coastline incredibly well and would stop now and then to point out little plants and creatures and explain all about them. He was hugely knowledgable and we learned loads. The kit provided was brilliant and we were warm, cosy and safe throughout.Overall a brilliant experience and we’ll definitely be returning in the spring and bringing the kids along too.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is coasteering?
How long is a coasteering session?
Our coasteering sessions are 3.5 hours long from start to finish. This includes the time spent doing a safety briefing, getting kitted up in the water.
You can expect to be in the water for around 1.5 to 2 hours.
What equipment do I need?
Old shorts (to wear over your wetsuit)
A sturdy pair of old trainers (NOT wetsuit boots or neoprene beach shoes)
5mm winter wetsuit
Wetsuit socks, gloves and hoods in the winter months
What if I can't swim?
When coasteering you have to wear a buoyancy aid, so being able to swim is not a requirement. We run these sessions at a small ratio of 1 guide to 8 participants which enables close support and supervision.
How many people are there on each session?
