Tyddewi Trail Night


TYF Adventure are excited to announce the dates of the Tyddewi Trail Night happening in partnership with Icebug on the 5th of August. 

We are inviting you to join us for an evening of fun on the Tyddewi trails, followed by a film screening and socialising in our community space at 20 High Street, St. Davids.


Icebug are bringing along a selection of trail shoes to give you the chance to demo them on a short coastal run. The run will include a 5km circular loop to a local beach where we will be picking up trash found along the way following the Trash Free Trails DIO Toolkit. We will look at the single-use pollution found on the St. Davids coastal trails and collect data on the biggest polluters. We’ll then return to the TYF community space for food and drinks followed by a film screening of Patagonia's latest film Run To The Source.


We welcome all abilities of runners to join us, the trail is open to everyone. 

Schedule

17:00 - Meet at the TYF Shop (1 High Street, St. Davids)
We'll be joined by Icebug rep, Alistair who will give a quick introduction to the brand and talk about the trainers, giving each runner the opportunity to demo a shoe.

17:30 - Leave the TYF Shop
Once all runners are kitted up we will head towards the coast path for a 5km loop. We will be collecting rubbish found en route. Trash Free Trails A Teamer, Stan Townsend will deliver a quick talk on the beach about the work TFT are doing to reduce the amount of single use pollution found on our trails. 

18:15 - Meet back at TYF Community Space (20 High Street, St. Davids)
We invite you to join us back at TYF for an ice cold Trail Ale (kindly provided by Icebug). A light dinner will be provided to all runners. 


19:00 - Doors open to the public 
If you're unable to or don't want to join in on the run but interested in coming along for a drink and to watch the film then please feel free to join us from 19:00, our bar will be open and serving cold refreshments. (You'll still need to reserve your ticket below)

19:30 Screening begins
We will kick off the screening of Patagonia's 40 minute film, Run To The Source.

About the Film

Patagonia ambassador and co-founder of Black Trail Runners, Martin Johnson (MJ) attempts to set a new fastest known time on the 184-mile Thames Path —running from the Thames Barrier in London to the source of the river in the Cotswolds. What starts as a gruelling and ambitious record-breaking attempt turns into a journey of discovery. He learns both about himself and the entangled history between Black people and the river. Martin hopes his run will encourage more diversity in the sport of trail running and inspire others to get out beyond the city and run.
