Climb, swim, scramble and jump your way around the bottom of the cliffs. Participants will explore personal limits, overcome fears, bond with each other, and enjoy a few hours of adrenaline-soaked fun. All undertaken at a level that’s right for the group.
Explore our incredible coastline with its beautiful rock formations, caves, beaches, and crystal-clear waters. We’ve designed a low impact, floating cruise from bay to bay on sit-on-top kayaks, where students will learn new skills, push their limits, and build confidence and self-esteem.
We use special beginners’ boards, warm wetsuits, and skilled instructors to get students confidently on their feet and surfing. They’ll learn about local marine life, sea safety, how to paddle, how to negotiate the surf, how to prone ride in control of their board and the art of standing up and catching their first wave.
A fun mix of sit-on-top kayaking, coasteering, snorkeling and fishing that encourages exploration, learning, teamwork and gives pupils the change to challenge themselves. The sit-on-top sea kayak is a user-friendly craft, easy to control and very stable, designed for gentle exploration and suitable for all ages and abilities.
Students will learn the techniques for safe, low-effort and enjoyable stand up paddleboarding. The three adventure options are:
Our Mega SUPs are great for playful, team adventures. Working together, up to 10 participants paddle one giant inflatable SUP while exploring rivers or tranquil stretches of the Pembrokeshire coastline. Choose from the following adventures:
Pembrokeshire has some of the best climbing locations in the UK, suitable for all abilities.
Climbing sessions are designed to help students conquer their fears, try something that challenges them and build trust. Our world-class instructors will cover the basics of safety and technique before supporting pupils to dig deep and conquer the cliffs.
Both educational and exciting, this journey takes students into Pembrokeshire’s dramatic sea caves, narrow rock gorges and circumnavigates Ramsey Island. Plenty of opportunity here to look for Atlantic Grey Seals, Harbour Porpoises and see huge colonies of migrating and nesting seabirds.
The trip duration is 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the season and logistics.
A unique wild swimming adventure that lets pupils experience the thrill and challenge of wild swimming and explores the current research and proven benefits of cold-water exposure for mental health and resilience. We’ll also walk stretches of Pembrokeshire’s world-famous coastal path where students can enjoy the fresh sea air and breathtaking views.
The perfect outdoor activity for getting right back to nature. We take small groups and teach them the basics of good campcraft before they set up their bivvies and sleep out in the wild for the night.
A fully guided 3.5-hour Rockpool exploration that gives younger pupils an opportunity to explore the fascinating marine life of the intertidal zone. They’ll leave with an understanding of the coastal ecosystem and the knowledge to explore the beaches and coves of Pembrokeshire, and beyond, independently and responsibly.
Carefully nurtured sparks become the fires on which bold projects are forged. Set the World Alight teaches the art of making fire from scratch, valuing it as a life skill and as metaphor for creativity, growth, and impact. Using bow drilling, flint and steel, students make their own fire, knead dough, cook bread, set their dreams alight, and turn their fears to ashes.
This activity is great when partnered with coastal crag climbing and involves a hike to the top of Carn Llidi (594 ft) where students can enjoy the panoramic views of the St. Davids Peninsular and (on a clear day) Ireland.
Led by our experienced, knowledgeable guides, pupils will learn about iron age settlements, plane crashes, and forgotten villages.
This allows you to add an experienced facilitator for all your activities who will work with participants to unlock their potential. The session takes place on the final evening of your residential stay, when our adventure guides use reviewing techniques and activities to help participants draw learning and meaning from their TYF adventures. This involves reflecting on achievements as a group, relationships with peers and environmental learning.
Led by world percussion experts, students get the chance to explore the power of music and rhythm. They can try out a variety of drums and hand percussion instruments and get an authentic insight into the drumming traditions of Brazilian carnival culture. Samba is lots of fun – but these classes also work to boost confidence and communication as well as encouraging creative expression and collaboration.
TYF collaborate with experienced vocal coaches to bring teams together and get them out of their comfort zone to create magical, layered acapella harmonies. Set in nature, these workshops see participants set aside their fears, open their hearts and mouths and master 2-3 short songs over a couple of hours.
A combination of beach combing, a #2minutebeachclean and facilitated nature connection, testing the group’s communication skills and creativity. TYF bring the rakes, sticks, poles and walkie talkies and you just bring your imagination and bucket loads of creativity. You’ll be guided through creating a group design and then split into teams to make a scaled up epic drawing using the sand as your canvas.
Explore one of the UK’s most unspoiled stretches of coastline and learn about the incredible flora and fauna. TYF provide supervision and OS maps and there’s a chance to have a go at fire lighting with Kelly Kettles and, best of all, hot chocolate. Students will also learn about the principles of remote first aid.
The Bug Farm is a research and visitor centre with a Tropical Bug Zoo, Museum, British Bug House, Insect Farming Exhibition, Farm Trails, and a Walled Garden.
The focus is on wildlife conservation and sustainable farming and their on-site café, Grub Kitchen, is the UK’s first full-time edible insect restaurant (don’t worry, there are plenty of non-insect dishes available too).
Your group will be challenged to undertake a series of entertaining and engaging problem-solving tasks and team building challenges.
The activities require full group cooperation and thinking outside of the box, teaching pupils to become risk smart, and develop the Adventure Intelligence skills they need to be a team player and lead others in the future.
Challenge your navigational skills with this enjoyable sport. Navigating on foot, students must locate concealed checkpoints using a compass, map, and a good dose of initiative. It’s a great activity if you are looking to develop teamworking and problem-solving skills. TYF have carefully designed routes to suit all abilities.
Spend a sunny afternoon playing wide-area games on one of the magnificent Pembrokeshire beaches. From Water Bucket Relay to Ultimate Frisbee and Beach Art, we’ve got a few ideas to help you keep pupils constructively occupied.

To successfully complete the range of gauntlet challenges, the team will have to assign roles, demonstrate innovative thinking, and develop leadership.
