TYF is an adventure and outdoor learning company based in the heart of St Davids, Pembrokeshire. Alongside our adventure operation, TYF Café is a relaxed and welcoming place for visitors, locals, our team and the wider outdoor community.
We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Chef to take ownership of our café kitchen and food offering.
As Chef, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the TYF Café kitchen and lead the development of our food offering.
You’ll be hands-on, preparing and cooking food while making sure the kitchen is organised, efficient and ready for service.
You’ll have genuine ownership of the menu, with the freedom to introduce new dishes, seasonal changes and specials while ensuring the food offering works commercially for the café.
You’ll work closely with the Café Manager, who leads the wider café operation, while you take the lead on everything happening in the kitchen.

We’re looking for an experienced chef who wants the opportunity to take ownership of a kitchen and make it their own. You’ll have ideas about food and menus and the confidence to turn those ideas into a food offering that works for a busy independent café.
You’ll also understand the practical and commercial side of running a kitchen – controlling stock, managing waste and food costs, maintaining standards and staying organised when things get busy.
You’ll be dependable, calm under pressure and happy working independently, while also enjoying being part of a small and friendly team.
St Davids has a naturally seasonal rhythm. Spring and summer are busy, while the winter months are considerably quieter.
Rather than making this a seasonal position, we’re offering a permanent, year-round role using annualised hours based on an average 40-hour working week. You’ll work more during our busiest periods and fewer hours during quieter parts of the year, with your contracted hours balanced across the year.
For the right person, we think this offers the best of both worlds: the security and regular income of permanent employment, with a working pattern that reflects the seasonal nature of life in St Davids and gives you more time away from work during the quieter Pembrokeshire winter.
The exact working pattern will be agreed as part of the role and planned around the needs of the café.

If you’re an experienced chef looking for something a little different – the freedom to run your own kitchen, create your own menu and put your stamp on an independent café in the heart of St Davids, we’d love to hear from you.
