Tom Iggleden

“I have always been into playing outdoors and outdoor sports. I have raced motor cross and karts from a young age and as I got older I discovered kayaking, sailing, climbing, coasteering and surfing – it’s fair to say my parents blood pressure is not the best!!! I also love to travel so it was only obvious that I would choose a career in the outdoor sector.

I have been working in the outdoor industry as a professional instructor for over 20 years. I moved to Pembrokeshire in 2000 and only meant to stay for the season…but I fell in love with the place and the people, and have not left. There are lots of things to love about it! The surf beaches, the amazing sea kayaking (some of the best in the world) and of course the bitches tidal race (play boating).

My main area of expertise is my surf kayaking. I compete for Wales in international competitions and I am also the team coach. I also love board surfing and have been all over the world doing it!”
