Photo-Topo guides are here to make your rock climbing experience simpler. These easy to use climbing guides combine clear photography with local knowledge, showing the most popular routes on the best crags to give you an easy to carry, easy to read guide for each area. Each guide has a general location map, introduction to the area and a ready reckoner to see in an instant how many routes, of what grade, are at each crag. Every cliff has specific, easy to follow approach directions and grid references.
This guide provides a snapshot of the most popular climbs in the southern bays of the St. Davids coastline. Pembrokeshire. It is neither detailed nor complete; there are many more routes and more crags in the area and details of these are available in other more comprehensive guidebooks. As with all guides, the climber must use his/her own judgement about whether to climb a route.
This part of Pembrokeshire has a laid back holiday feel - never far from the road, or shops; easy route-finding and it never seems out of place to have an ice-cream with you. The weather on the peninsular is generally finer than just a few miles inland and high sunshine hours are recorded each year.
The cliffs in this guide are all single pitch but an abseil rope is useful as many of them are tide washed.
The crags included are:
- Porthclais (Grey Slab & Red Wall)
- Porth y Ffynnon
- St Non's (Initiation Slabs)
- Craig Caerfai
- Carreg y Barcud
