Annual Leave

Entitlement

  • Our holiday year runs from the 1st February to the 31st January.

  • The Company recognises Christmas Day & Boxing Day as public holidays.

  • Your holiday entitlement is set out in your contract of employment. If you work part-time, your entitlement will be calculated on a pro rata basis to your part-time hours.

  • For the holiday year during which your employment begins or terminates you are entitled to paid holiday pro rata to the number of months worked.

  • We believe that regular leave is important and you are encouraged to take your full entitlement. Any annual leave not taken at the end of the annual leave year will be forfeited.

Conditions

  • You should agree your holiday dates in writing with your Line Manager before making any firm holiday arrangements.

  • Submitting a holiday request does not guarantee that a request will be granted. Wherever possible requests for leave will be accommodated, but occasionally absences at a particular time may cause operational difficulties.

  • We will make the final decision upon holidays if holiday days cannot be agreed. The Company cannot normally allow more than 10 days of annual leave to be taken continuously. You maybe be granted an extended period if agreed by the board of directors.

  • For the holiday year during which your employment begins or terminates you are entitled to paid holiday pro rata to the number of months worked.

  • In the event of illness or accident during part or all of your holiday period you should refer to our Sickness Absence Policy.

  • If required, deductions will be made from your final salary on termination of employment in respect of holidays taken in excess of your entitlement. Likewise if at the the termination of your employment you have accrued holiday but not yet taken it this will be paid in your final salary payment. Please note that bonus holiday days (outlined here) are paid at management discretion. You may be required to take unused holiday during any period of notice to terminate your employment. Payment for holidays will be made at the basic rate for your normal working day.

Notes

  • Time off is is approved on a first come first serve basis. To maximise your chance of leave being approved give as much leave time as possible.
