Corporate development

We are change makers. TYF create experiences and solutions for organisations, teams and individuals.

We make good things happen faster, developing new ways of working to make business and communities fit for the future.

TYF design for sustainability.

We’re great believers in walking the talk, collectively putting our talent and knowledge into practical use to make real change happen. Here’s some of the cool stuff we’re working on right now:

+DO Lectures
The Do Lectures bring together an audience of 80 committed doers and 25 of the world’s best thinkers in a tent, in a field in Pembrokeshire to share ideas and inspiration with the world, for free. The 2010 lectures were downloaded over a million times in the last three months of the year.

In the words of David Hieatt, chief doer: “People who Do things can inspire the rest of us to go and Do amazing things too. The Do Lectures were created for this purpose, the main goal being to spread inspiration and knowledge as much and as far as possible”. Our audience:

  • gain practical tools
  • develop inspirational thinking
  • learn how to see things from a different point of view
  • take away new ideas
  • learn how to re-work old ideas

Bringing people into an amazing place, with fresh food, interesting conversation and great music creates a melting pot for creativity.

+Inspire
The Institute for Sustainable Practice, Innovation and Resource Effectiveness (INSPIRE) will be launched at University of Wales Trinity Saint David in September 2011.

It will be led by ex Welsh Assembly Minister for Environment and Sustainability Jane Davidson, supported by Peter Davies, Comissioner for Sustaimable Futures and TYF founder Andy Middleton.

INSPIRE is setting out on an ambitious path to transform the integration of sustainability within the whole university, and to catalyse and accelerate Wales into a leading role for innovation, though and practice.

“INSPIRE will become a focal point for practical innovation in the areas of sustainability that make real difference to the performance of government, community resilience and long term success of business”

Andy Middleton, TYF Director

+Hay On Earth
TYF sponsored and launched first Hay on Earth Innovation Seminars in 2008, bringing leading sustainability practitioners from public and private sector together for four days of ideas, collaboration network. We hosted the launch of Wales’ new Sustainable Development Scheme and the Sustainable Development Charter and in 2010, created the Green Dragon’s Den.

In 2011 the Green Dragons Den will run once again as a competition for green innovation within business and communities throughout Wales.

With £40,000 up for grabs from the Welsh Assembly the competition over the 4 days is sure to be tough, bringing out great ideas which have to meet the approval of our Dragons, chosen from Hay’s speakers and Wales’ expert community. Each entry will be tested to the full before finalists go on stage in front of a paying audience in the cauldron of the Dragon’s Den.

+TYF Connect
We’re on a mission to embed innovation for sustainability into the heart of the education system, and fire up the sleeping super-computer of untapped imagination.

To move students focus from problems to solution, TYF’s team will be visiting leading sustainability businesses on an ongoing basis to understand what they’re doing that’s really working, what skills they’ll be needing from the workplace of the future, and what pratices they have to share with others, for free.

TYF’s teachers and adventure guides will take these ideas into schools and colleges as part of an experiential action learning programme that builds the innovation, creativity, context analysis, thinking skills, confidence and influence that are needed to make real change happen in businesses and communities near where they study.

We’re delighted to be working with University of Wales Trinity Saint David as an academic partner, and with innovation guru Matt Hart from agency Industry Approved to further develop and deploy his outstanding Wayne collaboration platform.

+Enviropass

Enviropass is our environmental training programme that provides managers and employees alike with the tools to help manage long term sustainability and environmental impacts for their business. It helps organisations effectively manage their resources, boost their environmental and sutainability credentials and provide evidence of action, results and benefits developed by directors, managers and operational employees.

Enviropass will help seed a culture of environmental and sustainability understanding, ambition and innovation throughout the workforce, act as a stimulus for organisations and individuals to recognise their impacts on the environment, their duty of care and the practical steps which can be taken to reduce their energy and resouce use and ultimately their impacts on the environment.

Enviropass is a joint initiative between Providence Training Limited and The TYF Group
