Pembrokeshire Paddle

A 5-day kayak tour of the Pembrokeshire Coast exploring sea cliffs, caves and hidden sandy beaches whilst keeping an eye out for seals, porpoise, dolphins and an array of birdlife. Accommodation is based in bunkhouse, camping or simply sleeping on the beach (weather permitting).

One of the great appeals of sea kayaking is the need to consider tides & currents, to plan ahead and to fit this in with the prevailing weather. This 5-day tour sets out to explore & make the most of the conditions as possible. Most days we will keep in close to the shore to explore the caves and bays with their associated attractions of wildlife and scenery. An occasional open crossing may be required to complete a particular leg but the emphasis is on getting in close to have a look.

Example itinerary:

Day 1
Basic kayak skills, learning safety drills and planning the week.

Day 2-4
12-15 km paddling per day, stopping to explore the caves and bays of the coastline.
Opportunities for stretching the legs to get a view from the cliff tops. Accommodation in tents or
bunkhouses.

Day 5
Return paddle to pick up point

The north coast of Pembrokeshire is some of the most remote and wild in the area; our route will explore
smugglers’ hideouts, wildlife sanctuaries and some fabulous coastal scenery. Meals are included,
however we will be catering communally in true expedition style. Time will be allocated to pre-trip menu
planning & shopping—no skimping on the treats!
