Midsummer Night sea kayak tripMidsummer night has been celebrated since the times of the Vikings by visiting healing water sources and making large bonfires to ward away evil spirits. Celebrate midsummer night TYF style with a two day sea kayak trip and overnight bivvi. Starting at picturesque Solva harbour, hewn by melting glaciar water from the surrounding hills, you'll paddle to Porthlysgi beach, named after the Irish Chieftain Lisci, who slew Boia, a local chief who infamously attacked St Davids settlement. We'll camp on the beach, build a bonfire, cook, eat and tell stories until the early hours. A late start will see us paddle through Ramsey sound to the journey end at Whitesands beach or to give it its welsh name Traeth Mawr. A large sandy beach in a magnificent setting, Traeth Mawr is well known for it's views, glorious sunsets and crystal clear water. We have six spaces on a course on Sat 28th of August.
